Instructions

Sauté Veggies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Warm olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion, diced pepper, and optional mushrooms. Cook until tender, then set aside to cool.

Combine the Mixture

  • In a large bowl, mix ground beef, milk, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, Adobo, salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and your cooled sautéed veggies.
  • Gently knead with your hands until well combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the loaf tender.

Layer & Fill

  • Lightly oil or spray a loaf pan.
  • Press half of the meat mixture into the pan’s bottom.

Layer with 3 slices of cheese on top.

  • Add the remaining meat mixture, pressing gently to seal the edges.
  • Bake & Top

Slide the loaf pan into the oven and bake for about 30 minutes.

  • Remove, top with the remaining cheese slices, and return to the oven for another 10–15 minutes.
  • Cheese should melt and turn lightly golden around the edges.

Rest & Serve

  • Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes to lock in the juices.
  • Slice and serve warm. Enjoy a cheesesteak-inspired meal right at home!

Notes

Rest Time: Remember to allow about 10 minutes for the loaf to settle before slicing. This resting period keeps each slice juicy and intact.
Gluten-Free Tip: Swap standard breadcrumbs for gluten-free ones, and ensure your Worcestershire sauce is also gluten-free.
Cheese Variations: Go bold with cheddar or pepper jack if you crave extra flavor.
Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, then reheat gently.
